BLACK TEA-CORE BORO SPRING 1st JKT - Black

BLACK TEA-CORE BORO SPRING 1st JKT - Black

This jacket is an absolute masterclass in denim—something Kapital has spent decades perfecting.

Distressing, repairing, patching and reinforcing denim, the level of detail within each garment is almost impossible to document in text or images. Sashiko embroidery criss-crosses the entire jacket, made with a host of different patterns and directions which hold together multiple patches and repairs. This technique has been employed by working class Japanese people for generations as a way of extending the life of treasured garments. This special edition "tea-core" version uses black and deep brown dyes to create a piece with an earthy depth unlike any other.

The lining features a tsugihagi (ē¶™ćŽęŽ„恎) "patchwork"Ā digital print, doing away with real patches on the inside and allowing the jacket to be worn comfortable from new.

Beneath all of this detail is Kapital's "1st JKT" which is their interpretation of a Levi's Type 1 jacket – the first style of a lineĀ which would come to define denim jackets for generations to follow.
